Vestal NY- It might not be their home turf, but the Binghamton Patriots settled in nicely Friday evening at Dick Hoover Stadium at Vestal High seeking their first Sectional title in three years. They would not disappoint their fans and emerged with a one-sided 34-14 win over defending Champs Corning. The Pats seemed to be hobbled with ankle injuries affecting many of their running backs, especially JJ Jones and freshman Dan Sellepack, however, turned to Kareem Leaver and Brian Alexander to do the job. Both were instrumental in turning a close first-half 14-13 Corning lead into a decisive win, and a return to Hoover Stadium next Saturday to host either West Genesee or Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse) in the NYS Regional game.

Corning NY- The Corning Hawks needed just a little over six minutes to get on the board Friday night in their semi final showdown with Elmira, then proceeded to add four more touchdowns before halftime, holding on for a 44-30 victory and a berth in the Championship game against Binghamton. On a night at Memorial Stadium in which late Corning Athletic Director Tim Decker was remembered via the ceremonial coin toss as members of his family participated, the Hawks Brandon Griffin, Zach Moore, and Zach Bush all crossed the goal line and made certain it would be a night worth remembering for Corning fans. Binghamton eliminated Ithaca in the other semi final game and will meet Corning at Vestal High School Friday 11/4 in the 7PM title game. Coverage begins at 6:45PM om RLM Sports.Net and Cool 96 FM.

Elmira, NY- Fans, several thousand strong, witnessed the first ever football meeting between combined teams from the Corning and Elmira School districts Saturday October 22. Both teams kept their fans in suspense until the final minutes of play as to the outcome, but it would be Corning prevailing with a 38-30 victory. Saturday's game may have been a preview of what is to come as Corning and Elmira will meet again, Friday October 28 for the Section IV semi finals. This meeting of Class AA teams will determine who takes on the Binghamton/Ithaca winner in the Sectional Championship in two weeks.

Ithaca, NY - The Binghamton Patriots put a damper on Senior Night festivities at Ithaca High School, defeating the Little Red 41-12 in the final game of the regular season for both teams.

Midway through the second quarter, Ithaca's Michael Gilmore ran 51 yards for a touchdown; a two-point conversion by Wesley Sanders made it 20-12 Binghamton, but Ithaca would get no closer.

Corning's plan to control the clock with a multitude of plays nearly played in it's favor. What the Hawks did not plan for was a big play from Maine-Endwell's shifty wingback Luis Uceta. Ball control was the order of the day for the Hawks, but factor in wind, rain, fumbles, and penalties to spice up this latest meeting of two talented teams.

Ithaca, NY - Tyrel McKoy's third rushing touchdown of the night gave Ithaca a 12-point lead in the third, but Elmira would rally to victory, beating the Little Red 32-28 in its homecoming game.

Half of the game's eight touchdowns were scored in the first quarter. The Express opened up the scoring with 9:46 left on a 52-yard TD run by Eric Williams, followed by a two-yard conversion run by Trevor Maycumber. McKoy would answer with a 59-yard TD run with 7:39 remaining in the first. The two-point try came up short, leaving the score 8-6 Elmira.

Vestal used a quick strike third quarter Tuesday 10/11 and denied Horseheads it's first football win of the season. With the Raiders leading 13-12 at the half, Vestal's Marshall Case took the opening kickoff of the third quarter and returned it to the Horseheads six yard line. Joe Capwell sliced through two plays later for the score with what proved to be the winning margin. Vestal would later cap off the scoring with a 28 yard field goal from Mike Chewens giving the Golden Bears a 21-13 victory, their second of the year, and first in the section IV Class A division. Vestal will host Union Endicott on Friday while Horseheads meets Binghamton.

Waverly rolled to it's fifth win of the season without a loss as Zach Cooney tossed five touchdown passes enroute to a 56-0 romp over Watkins Glen. Perhaps there was a pregame message delivered of what was to come by the Wolverine Band as it marched on the field. Whether it was the high octane offense, which has been averaging 44 points per game, or it's smothering defense, Waverly hit on all cyliders like a well oiled machine. Watkins was held to a scant 35 yard rushing, falling to 2-2 while Waverly amassed over 400 to run it's record to 5-0.
