We are now three weeks into the 2011 season and to say it has been one of surprises might be an understatement. First, thoughts and prayers go out to all in Twin Tiers who sustained flood damage. May your recovery efforts be speedy. Second, Corning Hawks made it 3-0 on the season with a convincing 45-14 win over Vestal. The Elmira school district combined team, the Express, fell to 1-2 for the year, losing a 34-0 decision to interdivision foe Maine-Endwell. Elmira travels to Union Endicott Saturday 9/24 for a 7P kickoff. Corning, meanwhile, will visit last season's "AA" runnerup, Binghamton, Friday 9/23. This is our featured game, starting with the pregame at 6:45P. Join us at rlmsports.net and COOL 96 FM.
Saturday 9/24 we visit Horseheads for a 1:30P game between the Raiders and Maine Endwell.

RLM Sports has expanded its sports coverage to include Ithaca area scholastic sports. This Fall, we are including the Ithaca HS Little Red Football games. Kevin Mooney will be providing the exciting play-by-play action of the Little Red's games. See Kevin's interview with Coach Redmond in the Broadcast Schedule, Ithaca vs Rochester East High at the Carrier Dome. RLM Sports' award winning Bob Michaels will also be covering some of the games. For all up-coming games visit rlmsports.net under the Broadcast Scedule tab.
In a recent interview, Ithaca's athletic director and head football coach Ed Redmond had the following to say about what it's taken to become the winning team they are and what it will take to become competitive.

RLM Sports had an opportunity to speak with Jeff Manwaring, the Athletic Director for the Elmira School District. Elmira, like Corning did last year, is combining their scholastic sports program of Elmira Free Academy and Southside High Schools. We were able to catch AD Manwaring for a brief interview recently to discuss the formation of one team where, up to this year, were two teams. We spoke specifically about the new Elmira Express football Team.
Interviews with Elmira Expresses Head Football coach can be found in our Broadcasting Schedule section of this website in the Elmira Games articles.
The first Elmira Express combined sports team will be playing the Horseheads Blue Raiders on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 4 p,m, at Horseheads stadium.
